The project had previously been permanently handed over to the client on August 30, 2025 (Shahrivar 8, 1404). This milestone follows the successful execution of the project, coming after the provisional handover of the third unit in January/February 2024 (Bahman 1402) and the provisional handover of the fourth unit in November/December 2024 (Azar 1403).
The Semnan gas power plant project comprises two MAP 2B gas turbines, each with a capacity of 183 MW (totaling 366 MW under ISO conditions), and is located at the 10th kilometer of the Semnan-Damghan road. The project client is Saman Semnan Energy Production Company, and the consultant is Moshaver-e Niroo Company.
Under a contract signed with the client in January/February 2022 (Bahman 1400), the scope of work assigned to Development 1 included design, equipment procurement, engineering services, and commissioning for the plant’s third and fourth units. The third unit was synchronized in July/August 2022 (Mordad 1401), and the fourth unit was synchronized in March/April 2023 (Farvardin 1402).
With the permanent handover of the third gas unit at the Semnan power plant, the total number of units permanently handed over by MAPNA Power Plant Construction and Development Company (Development 1) has reached 135, with a combined capacity of 18,055 MW—an achievement that further highlights the company’s pivotal role in boosting the country’s power generation capacity and ensuring the stability of the national energy grid.
