The Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade visited the Semnan Power Plant Development Plan during his visit to the industrial estates of Semnan Province; at the same time, the implementation of the Semnan Power Plant Steam Unit began.
The second phase of the Semnan Gas Power Plant has been implemented in the form of designing, engineering, supplying equipment, installing and commissioning two advanced MGT-70 (3) Class E gas turbine generator units with a nominal capacity of 366 MW under ISO conditions.
The first and second units of the project, as part of the second 3,000 MW plan (9 power plants), were notified to MAPNA Group in 2008, including two turbines with a capacity of 160 MW (total 320 MW), and were synchronously delivered in January and February 2010 and provisionally delivered in May and September 2011.
The third and fourth units were also notified in the form of a contract with the Semnan Saman Energy Production Company on February 2, 1402, for synchronization within 12 and 14 months and temporary delivery within 16 months and referred to the MAPNA Power Plant Construction and Development Company (MAPNA MD1).
Thus, since the synchronization of the units and connection to the national grid, with continuous production according to the grid’s needs, more than 480,000 MW of electricity has been produced in the third unit and 188,000 MW in the fourth unit of the Semnan Power Plant.
Higher efficiency of MGT-70 (3) turbines compared to conventional gas cycle
At the ceremony, which was attended by the Governor of Semnan, a group of industrial managers and senior managers of MAPNA Group, the CEO of MAPNA Group said in a speech: At the Semnan gas power plant, the first two units were upgraded to a new version and model that has higher efficiency, and immediately under industrial contracts, the next two units were built, and now all four of MAPNA’s MGT-70 (3) turbine units have higher efficiency than the conventional gas cycle. I hope that with the inauguration of the combined cycle project and the appropriate financing that is being carried out, the project will be accelerated and the combined cycle section will be constructed and completed within the next two years; in this case, we will have the best energy efficiency and ultimately its electricity will be used for the country’s industries.
Mohammad Auliya emphasized: I hope that with the inauguration of the combined cycle project and the appropriate financing that is being carried out, the project will be accelerated and the combined cycle section will be constructed and completed within the next two years; in this case, we will have the best energy efficiency and ultimately its electricity will be used for the country’s industries.
The project employer is the Saman Semnan Power Plant Power Generation Company, and MAPNA Power Plant Construction and Development Company (Development 1) is the MAPNA Group’s representative in this project.
The contract for the construction of the second phase of the Semnan Power Plant is the first in a series of contracts signed between the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade and the Ministry of Energy for the construction of power plants by domestic industries. The contract for the implementation of the second phase of the Semnan Power Plant was signed on Monday, December 19, 1402, between MAPNA Group and the Mines and Metals Development Investment Company.
