Generator for the First Steam Unit of Semnan Combined-Cycle Power Plant Arrives at the Site

The generator for the first steam unit of the Semnan Combined-Cycle Power Plant arrived at the project site on Sunday, September 20, 2026, following a 29-day transportation journey involving heavy-haul operations

Weighing 280 tons, the generator was transported to the project site along challenging routes and roads, using specialized arrangements and requirements for the transportation of heavy equipment. The successful completion of this operation marks an important step in the progress and implementation of the Semnan Combined-Cycle Power Plant project. Given the equipment’s considerable weight and dimensions, the operation required precise planning, close coordination among the project execution teams, and strict compliance with technical and safety requirements for heavy equipment transportation.

The Semnan Combined-Cycle Power Plant comprises four gas units and two steam units. Construction activities for the steam units are currently underway. Upon completion of the steam units, 360 MW will be added to the plant’s generation capacity, bringing the total capacity of the power plant to approximately 1,080 MW.The power plant is located in Semnan Province, at Kilometer 5 of the Semnan–Damghan Highway. Saman Power Generation Company, a subsidiary of Pouya Energy Holding, is the project owner and investor, while Niroo Consulting Engineers is serving as the project consultant
