During the visit, the progress of the ongoing activities was reviewed, along with the latest project status and measures implemented to optimize water consumption.
The cooling system retrofit project at Shahid Moftah Power Plant is being implemented with the aim of making optimal use of existing capacities and supporting the country’s broader objectives for the management and optimization of natural water resources. Upon completion of the project, and based on a daily water consumption of 150 liters per person, equivalent to 54.75 cubic meters per person per year, the amount of water saved at Unit 2 of Hamedan Power Plant will be equivalent to the annual water consumption of a city with a population of approximately 70,000. This figure highlights the significance of the project in water resource management and improving power plant efficiency.
Leveraging its technical and execution capabilities, MAPNA MD1 has valuable experience in the design and implementation of cooling system optimization and water consumption management projects for power plants. The company continues to contribute to improving efficiency and reducing water consumption in Iran’s power generation industry.
Shahid Moftah Power Plant is located in Hamedan Province, approximately 45 kilometers from Hamedan. The project owner is Thermal Power Plants Holding Company, while Quds Niroo Engineering Company is serving as the project consultant.
