In this context, the mining value chain can be regarded as a series of interconnected stages through which mineral resources are extracted from the earth and, after undergoing various processes, are transformed into usable products for a wide range of industries. This value chain encompasses a broad range of stakeholders and activities, including government institutions and private-sector entities, exploration teams, mining and extraction operations, processing facilities, distribution networks, and ultimately industrial end users.

1. Mining Upstream
Exploration: The starting point of the mining process, aimed at identifying potential mineral deposits through methods such as geological surveys, geophysical investigations, and geochemical data analysis.
Extraction: Once mineral reserves have been confirmed, mineral resources are extracted using various methods, including open-pit mining, underground mining, and drilling.
2. Mining Midstream
Processing: Extracted materials typically contain impurities and therefore undergo processing operations such as crushing, grinding, concentration, separation, and refining to produce materials suitable for use in various industries.
3. Mining Downstream
This stage includes smelting, refining, and the production of industrial end products, such as steel.
Supporting Activities
A range of ancillary services and activities that play a critical role in ensuring the sustainability, efficiency, and continuity of the entire value chain, including technical support, logistics, quality management, and other related infrastructure and support services.
